BKHdesign 900D Kayak Cover, Large 60 x 29 inch Black Waterproof Cockpit Cover for Outdoor Storage and Transport
BKHdesign's 900D kayak cover, a large 60 x 29 inch black waterproof cockpit cover for storage and transport.
An open cockpit collects rain, leaves, spiders, and the occasional nesting mouse. A cover solves that, but the job splits in two. A storage cover only needs to sit snug and shed water while the boat is on a rack. A transport cover has to survive highway wind without ballooning off, which asks for tougher fabric, a tighter rim grip, and usually a strap under the hull. Cockpit rims also vary enough that sizing is not universal. We weighed rim grip on both keyhole and ocean cockpits, whether the fabric resists UV rather than going brittle in a season, and how the cover vents so condensation does not soak the seat. Light nylon covers suit garage and shed storage. Heavier neoprene or coated covers suit paddlers who drive with the boat uncovered on top. Check your cockpit dimensions first, since a loose cover is worse than none at speed.
