What we liked
- + Telescoping aluminum shaft adjusts from about 21 to 42 inches, so it stows in a hatch or bag as a backup.
- + Twist-and-lock joints are described as needing no tools, and a T-grip handle is included.
- + Priced near $16, which is a small cost for a spare to carry on every trip.
Trade-offs
- - Emergency-length paddle, not a full-length touring spare, so it is for getting to shore rather than long distances.
- - Aluminum shaft and plastic blade are basic, and the price band is far below the Aqua Bound paddle it replaces.
