# Best Kayak Carts and Trolleys Source: https://kayaknest.com/best/best-kayak-carts Updated: 2026-09-15 Publisher: Kayak Nest. Our score is an editorial rating out of 10 (fit 35%, features 25%, build 20%, value 20%), not a customer rating. Method: https://kayaknest.com/how-we-research#our-score The walk from parking lot to put-in is where most hull scratches and sore backs come from. A cart takes that load, but the ground decides which one works. Narrow hard wheels roll easily on pavement and boardwalks and sink in dry sand. Balloon tires float over soft ground and take up more trunk space. Frames also differ in how they cradle the hull, how they strap on, and whether they fold small enough to ride in the boat. We weighed rated load against real hull weight with gear aboard, how stable each frame stays on a side slope, and how quickly the wheels come off for storage. Airless wheels suit paddlers who hate maintenance and stick to firm paths. Balloon tires suit beach launches and loaded fishing kayaks. Scupper-post carts suit sit-on-top owners who want the simplest possible setup. ## Picks ### 1.
